Congratulations to Mrs. Rebecca Locklear for being named RES Support Staff of the Year for 2019-2020. Mrs. Locklear is an essential part of the Ruckersville Elementary School team and Greene County Public School Division. Mrs. Locklear is a team player who collaborates well with all faculty and staff members to ensure her students are receiving appropriate supports to help them access the general education curriculum. Mrs. Locklear helps create materials for her students, as well as materials for any student in need. Mrs. Locklear provides students with academic and emotional support and differentiates the instruction according to the IEP goals and ability needs. Mrs. Locklear has completed the PVCC Autism Course for Educators, which she uses in her role as an Autism Instructional Assistant for the past ten years. Mrs. Locklear is also currently enrolled at Liberty University earning her bachelor’s degree in Special Education. Her desire is to become a teacher working with Autistic and Special Education students in Greene County. On top of all this, Mrs. Locklear is also a valued member of the Transportation Department for 23 years. Mrs. Locklear drives a school bus for Ruckersville Elementary School and ensures our students arrive at school and get home safely every day. Mrs. Locklear comes to school with a smile each and every day and puts the needs of her students as the top priority of her day.
