Referrals

Gifted referrals can be made by parents/guardians or any educators who work with the student. The referral form (attached below) must be filled out and returned to the appropriate School Gifted Coordinator. In addition, parents should complete the permission to test and return with the referral form. The names and contact information for School Gifted Coordinators can be found on the Gifted Contacts page.

Gifted Screening

All students in second grade and fourth grade are given the Naglieri Nonverbal Ability Test - Second Edition. This test is a nonverbal, culturally neutral measure of general ability that is often used as a means to identify potentially gifted children. Students who score in the 95th percentile or above are automatically referred for an evaluation for gifted services.
