William Monroe High School students recently participated in a mock trial at the Greene County Courthouse, a culminating activity for two PVCC dual enrollment classes, Criminal Justice and Constitutional Law as well as the high school's Forensic Science class.

"My two ADJ classes created the crime and served as commonwealth's attorneys, defense attorneys, the defendant, victims, jurors, the bailiff, court clerk, court reporter, law enforcement, and some non-expert witnesses," said Brad Berry, a WMHS teacher who helped organize the mock trial.

Kirsten Dexter's WMHS Forensic Science students served as expert witnesses and creating evidence for the mock trial.

Greene County Circuit Court Clerk Ashby Lamb-Gomez met with the student who served as the circuit court clerk for the mock trial and provided helpful advice, according to Berry.
